I write this post at a time I have hit rock bottom. The time has come for me to stop “thinking about it” but to “work for it”. What am I talking about? My weight. This is the heaviest I’ve been in my whole entire life. I have never in my existence felt this unhealthy and been this disgusted with my body. I know what most of you may be thinking:
You look fine
You’re so skinny compared to….
I wish I was that weight
What are you worried about
Blah, blah, blah. Yes all these words of wisdom are true, but we all come in different shapes and sizes and comparing us to each other is just (it’s too early and I can’t think, so pardon my lack of vocab) stupid! Deep down each of us know when things are getting out of control, and right now, I’m out of control.
I have no idea how I got to this point of weighing this much! Actually, no, that’s not true, I do know. I know exactly how I got to this point: late night eating, eating junk food all day long, scarfing down lays chips with ranch dip, pizza (any pizza from anywhere), skipping breakfast, not drinking enough water (yes roopa and joti, I admit it, you have a point), and my all time arch-nemesis: not working out.
So I write this blog to publicly document my weight loss journey. Even though I’m calling it my weigh loss journey, it’s actually going to be a journey to getting healthier, because you see, it’s not my weight that bothers me so much, it’s the fact that I feel like shit. I feel tired all the time, I’m out of breath when I walk up a couple flight of stairs…something just doesn’t feel right, like my insides are crying out for actual nutrition.
I’m not going to give out my weight or post a picture, I’m just not there yet. But I will blog about my progress, or lack of, every week and when I get to a point of comfort I will post a picture and I will reveal my original weight.
So for anyone else that is struggling with this, join me! Leave comments on your journey, what will you do? how will you do it? For those of you who have been on this journey and been successful, TELL US HOW!!!! give us some tips.
This week I’m going to start with just 3 steps:
- Actively using my fitbit
- Logging in what I eat
- Start drinking at least 2-3 glasses of water
